Thursday 22nd - we visited South Stacks, to the west of Anglesey, which is home to countless razorbills, cormorants and a few puffins. What an amazing view! The RSPB are here in force, watching the cliffs and filming the birds as they lay their eggs and care for their chicks.

Friday 23rd - after coffee at The Boathouse, we visited Penrhyn Castle - a beautiful National Trust property just outside Bangor. Penrhyn Castle is a 19th century castle, or actually a facsimile copy of a medieval castle. It was built by the Pennant family, who made their fortune from the sugar and slate industries. We were allowed a special trip to the roof of the castle in the afternoon, giving us stunning views across Snowdonia and across the Menai Strait.
