Friday 23rd June 2017
Friday 23rd - after coffee at The Boathouse, we visited Penrhyn Castle - a beautiful National Trust property just outside Bangor. Penrhyn Castle is a 19th century castle, or actually a facsimile copy of a medieval castle.
It was built by the Pennant family, who made their fortune from the sugar and slate industries.
We were allowed a special trip to the roof of the castle in the afternoon, giving us stunning views across Snowdonia and across the Menai Strait.
